Special on Ruben Salazar

The 50th Chicano Moratorium Committee, formed as the 50th committee in 2020, and formalized to head up the annual commemorations of August 29, 1970, presents actual footage, photos, and interviews from the 1970 anti-war protests and Chicano civil rights movement in honor of Ruben Salazar, Lynn Ward, and Angel Diaz. As we enter the month of August, we continue to educate the public in honor of Chicano Heritage Month with information leading up to our event on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Belvedere Park in East L.A. (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). This years celebration will include a tribute to the 50th year with TIERRA, the popular Chicano band that grew out of the movement in 1972.
